We Gujarati's take proud to be a Gujarati, but if we think/observe properly, then we are only the ones who give importance to other languages, especially English. We don't know our language but of-course we want to learn French & German as if it is irresistible. Even we force our wife & kids to speak & prefer the same language rather than our regional. May be it's for show-off or to race with the so-called Modern society, we ignore our basic Language.
I have seen & came in contact with a lot of South Indian people & I really got angry that most of them don't know even Hindi properly, which is our National language. They always talk in English with me or other persons & couldn't understand a simple Hindi statement. I told them many times regarding this matter, but at times I even liked one thing about them a lot. I respected them for whenever they are in a group then they always talk in their regional language whereas we people try to boast of trying speaking in English.
Even being working outside & coming in contact with people like Germans & others, I have seen that even they prefer their regional language to the core. And even suggested us to do the same when in a group.
Of course, learning & knowledge of other language is essential in this era, but highest respect should be for your Regional & National language. And whenever within our country's people, we should prefer, rather say it should be mandatory speaking our language. This implies to all our Indians.
This is what I feel. So, shouldn't we start following this thing with due respect & pride.

આપણે ગુજરાતી થવા પર ગર્વ કરીએ છીએ, પણ આજકાલ જુઓ તો આપણે પોતે જ બીજી ભાષા પર ભાર આપીએ છીએ, ખાસ કરીને અંગ્રેજી પર. આપણા બાળકો કે પત્ની કે મિત્રો ને પણ આ જ ભાષા બોલવા માટે આગ્રહ કરીએ છીએ. લોકો ની સામે દેખા-દેખી માં હોય કે પછી જમાના સાથે સ્પર્ધા મા ઉતરવા, આપણે આપણી ભાષાની અવગણના કરવા લાગ્યા છિએ.
ReplyDeleteમે ઘણા બધા સાઉથ ઈન્ડિયન લોકો જોયા ને મને બહુજ ગુસ્સો આવતો હતો કે તેઓને હિન્દી, જે આપણી રાષ્ટ્રભાષા છે તે પણ બરાબર નથી આવડતું, હું તેમને ઘણી વખત કહું આ વિશે, પણ સાથે સાથે તેમની ૧ બાબત માટે મને માન પણ થતું હતું કે તેઓ જ્યારે તેમના લોકો સાથે ૧ ગ્રુપ માં બેઠા હોય ત્યારે પોતાની જ ભાષા માં બોલે છે, જ્યારે આપણે લોકો ઊલટા સટકા મારવામાં થી ઊંચા આવતા નથી.
તો શું આપણે આપણી ભાષા ને માન આપીને ગુજરાતી ને મહત્વ આપવાનું, ગુજરાતી બોલવાની શરુઆત ના કરવી જોઇએ??!! હા બીજી ભાષા શીખવી અને આવડવી જોઇએ, પણ માન સૌથી વધારે ગુજરાતી ભાષા માટે જ હોવું જોઇએ. અને આપણાં લોકો વચ્ચે હોઇએ ત્યારે તેને જ પ્રાધાન્ય આપવું જોઇએ. આ લેખ ને તમારો પ્રતિભાવ આને Follow કરી ને આપશો.
